How Does the ECO-BOX work?
The ECO-BOX stores the reactive power to create the electromagnetic field (EMF) around the inductive windings of a motor by storing in its capacitors. As motors operate, reactive power is "pulled" and" pushed" to and from the ECO-BOX by the motor at 60 cycles/second.
The ECO-BOX stores and releases what the motors need to function more efficiently. This unique approach reduces the heat generated on the lines and therefore reduces the strain placed on all the electrical components so they actually will increase their life expectancy. Electricity that is normally pushed back through the power distribution lines is now reclaimed and recycled by the ECO-BOX
The ECO-BOX reclaims, stores, recycles and supplies power to all inductive loads (motors). As you have already paid for this electricity, why waste a percentage of your investment. With the ECO-BOX energy can be stored and used when needed. This whole process is called energy optimization.
Can the ECO-BOX be installed in every home or business?
Yes, as long as you have a circuit breaker panel with breaker switches and not the old screw in type fuses. Most homes use single phase. The ECO-BOX works for 100, 200 and 400 amp single phase electrical panels. Commercial application requirements vary and require commercial units. Check with your rep as to the availability for your type business. All systems are approved for indoor or outdoor installations.(Proper sizing may be the superior method for some abnormal applications)
Will the ECO-BOX affect any of my appliances, motors and their normal use?
Yes, most certainly but only in a positive way. Dirt and heat are the natural enemies of motors, and the ECO-BOX stores and then releases more accurately the power needed to allow the motors to function more efficiently, and in so doing reduces power surges, reduces the harmful effects from electro-magnetic fields and in so-doing increases the life expectancy of motors and appliances.
How long will the ECO-BOX last?
With the exceptional quality and high standard of components used, coupled with the fact that there are no moving parts, predicted life span is 15-25 years.
Why haven't I heard of this product until now?
In reality, one could say smugness and cost effectiveness have driven the American market place into a state of complacency. Until recently, people have been content in the SUV, V-8 engine and wasting fuel era. There was little desire to "tighten" our energy belts due to the relatively low costs of petroleum products and electricity. Does the ECO-BOX offer Surge Protection?
Yes, the ECO-BOX also protects the entire home against power surges, and provides a broad range of protection for hardwired appliances and most home electronics such as televisions, satellite equipment, entertainment systems, etc. The unit protects from power line surges as well as spikes caused by internal wiring problems, loose connections and fluctuating demand from large motors such as appliances, vacuum cleaners, heating and cooling equipment, etc.
Is the ECO-BOX Unit Warranted?
Yes, 5 year Manufacturers Warranty for full replacement, even if the systems are affected by lighting surges.
Who should install ECO-BOX unit?
Panel systems are easily installed within approximately 30 minutes by a qualified electrician. Installation instructions are posted online for convenient access by our professional service providers.
ECO-BOX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please read this sheet prior to installing the ECO-BOX
LOCATIONS AND INFORMATION:
1. Prior to opening the meter base, or breaker panel, MAKE CERTAIN THE MAIN BREAKER IS IN THE "OFF" POSITION.
2. If there is not space at the meter base, or you prefer, the ECO-BOX may be installed at the load center (breaker panel) depending on local codes.
3. Many homes have multiple breaker panels and the ECO-BOX can be installed on any breaker panel in the home, providing there is space for the dedicated breaker.
4. The ECO-BOX is designed to condition "ALL" power consumed by inductive loads (electric motors) in the home.
5. If there are no spaces available at the meter base or breaker panel, a sub panel can be installed for a dedicated breaker. Your electrical professional may be able to gather up small circuits on your panel, thus providing room for the required breaker.
6. The ECO-BOX "MUST" be installed on a dedicated two pole 20 amp 220 volt breaker. "Piggy backing" is against national building codes.
7. The ECO-BOX units is enclosed in a NEMA 3R box allowing it to be installed indoors or outdoors, but "CAN NOT" be installed under water.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prior to opening the meter base or breaker panel MAKE CERTAIN THE MAIN BREAKER IS IN THE "OFF" POSITION.
2. The power should remain "OFF" until the entire installation is complete.
3. Install a two pole 20 amp 220 volt breaker and secure the two leads (wires) of the ECO-BOX, one on each side of the breaker. Secure the green wire from the ECO-BOX to the ground bar in the panel. Leave breaker in "OFF" position until power is restored to panel.
4. Remove "tabs" (knockouts) from the cover allowing access to the breaker after cover is reinstalled. Reinstall the panel cover securely.
5. Turn power (main breaker) back on. Flip the "dedicated" breaker to "ON" and check that the indicator light is on. This will indicate that the unit is on and installation is complete.
6. If the light is "not" on turn off power, and check to make certain good contacts are made with the two red wires and the breaker, and the green wire and the ground bar. Install cover, turn power back on, and check light again.
7. If light remains off call your dealer or tech support at 949-363-2936 M-F 8-4 EST, USA.
8. If your unit is humming this is a sign that you are receiving high voltage. This will not damage the unit and can occur at various times.
GENERATOR APPLICATIONS:
1. The ECO-BOX is not designed to improve the power provided by your generator.
2. If you have a manual start generator, turn off the ECO-BOX breaker when turning off the main feed breaker.
3. If you have an auto start generator make certain that the ECO-BOX breaker is not on one of the circuits supported by the generator. If it is, turn the breaker off to the ECO-BOX when the generator starts up.
WARRANTY: The ECO-BOX has a five year warranty from date of installation by a Licensed Electrician.
WARNING: HAVE YOUR ECO-BOX INSTALLED BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN. INSTALLING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MAY RESULT IN SHOCK, SERIOUS INJURY, OR EVEN DEATH.
CAUTION: Warning Electrical Shock "Do Not Open" there are NO serviceable parts. Disconnection of Protective Earth Conductor, may impair the performance this product. It is NOT recommended putting any Switches or Fuses In-Line with the Earth Conductor
